📖 How Bavulla Works

Have a traveler heading to Japan buy what you want.

Your payment is protected in escrow and you receive the item in person. This guide explains who does what at each stage and exactly where the money goes.

2Who gets how much?

Example: item ¥30,000 + reward ¥5,000

You (shopper) pay in total
¥40,425
Item ¥30,000 + reward ¥5,000 + fee ¥5,425. This yen amount is converted to Turkish lira (TRY) at the exchange rate when you pay.
The traveler receives
¥35,000
Reimbursement of the ¥30,000 they fronted + the ¥5,000 reward (their net earning = the reward).
Bavulla service fee
¥5,425
Tiered service fee, paid by the buyer; includes payment-processing costs.

* Item prices are fixed in JPY. The amount you pay is set at the payment-time rate (reference rate + ~4% FX margin); you carry no further FX exposure after paying. The TRY shown before payment is a live reference estimate. Minimum order total ¥2,000.

3Service fee (tiered)

Applied to item + reward total, paid by the buyer

Total bracketRateEffective rate example
Up to ¥5,00020%Total ¥10,000 → ~17.5%
Portion ¥5,000–¥30,00015%Total ¥35,000 → ~15.5%
Portion above ¥30,00013.5%Total ¥100,000 → ~14.2%

Each bracket's rate applies to its portion (no cliffs). The bigger the total, the lower the effective rate, approaching 13.5%. The fee is never deducted from the traveler's reward.

After-departure cancellation is confirmed by the traveler's approval (impossible if they already purchased; auto-approved 3 days after their return — at least 72 hours after the request — if they don't respond). Only after-departure cancellation carries a fee of 15% of the item price (5% to the traveler + 10% to the platform, each min ¥300, at least ¥600 total); in every other case you receive a full refund.

5Safety & trust

🔒 Escrow
Funds are protected until receipt is confirmed.
Your payment is held by the payment provider (iyzico) and is not released to the traveler until handover and your confirmation of receipt (via code, or auto-confirmed after 48 hours). We never hold funds ourselves, and if something goes wrong you can use “Report a problem” before any payout.
🔑 Confirmation code
The deal only completes when the buyer shares their code.
At handover, the traveler must enter the confirmation code you provide before the deal completes and payout happens. If the item is wrong, damaged or defective, simply don't share the code — the deal won't complete and no payout is made. Wrong codes are rejected with attempt limits.
🛂 KYC verification
Required for payout. Keeps impostors out.
Travelers who receive payouts must complete identity verification (KYC) with an external vendor. Passports and selfies are stored by the vendor, not by us. This deters impersonation and fraud, and no payout is made until verification is complete.
Mutual reviews
Honest deals build your trust score.
After each completed deal, both the buyer and the traveler leave a review. Honest dealings and cancellation rates feed a trust score shown on public profiles, so you can judge even a first-time partner by their track record.
💡 If the item is wrong, damaged or defective — don't give the code. Without your code the deal can't complete, and you can use “Report a problem”.

6Your obligations

⚠️ Direct contact or deals outside the platform violate the terms — escrow, code and review protections all become void. Prohibited goods cannot be requested.
📌 The sales contract is between you and the traveler. Bavulla provides a safe marketplace and is not a party to the transaction.
